AVATR Builds a Luxury EV Presence in Egypt

The Egyptian electric vehicle market is entering a new phase, with Chinese premium brands increasingly competing not only through electric powertrains but also through advanced technology, luxury interiors and distinctive design.

Among the brands seeking to establish themselves in this segment is AVATR, a Chinese premium automotive marque created through a partnership involving Changan and battery giant CATL. In Egypt, the brand is represented by Kasrawy Group, its exclusive local partner.

AVATR currently offers three models in Egypt: the AVATR 07, AVATR 11 and AVATR 12, with prices ranging from approximately EGP 2.29 million to EGP 3.58 million depending on the model and trim.

Rather than competing with affordable electric vehicles, AVATR is targeting the premium end of the market, combining powerful electric drivetrains with sophisticated cabins, advanced driver-assistance systems and futuristic exterior styling.

AVATR 07 Brings Range-Extended Technology

The AVATR 07 is the newest model in the brand’s Egyptian lineup. It is positioned as a premium mid-size crossover and was first introduced globally in 2024.

In Egypt, the model is offered in three grades, starting at EGP 2.29 million for the Luxury RWD version. The Premium AWD is priced at EGP 2.69 million, while the Premium Vision AWD reaches EGP 2.79 million.

One of the model’s key advantages is its REEV range-extender technology. The system combines electric propulsion with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that operates primarily as an energy generator, allowing the vehicle to maintain an electric driving experience while extending overall range.

The RWD version produces 310 horsepower and 333 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7.1 seconds.

The AWD versions use two electric motors producing a combined 495 horsepower and 595 Nm of torque, reducing the 0-100 km/h time to approximately 5.5 seconds.

Luxury Meets Advanced Technology

AVATR has positioned the 07 as more than a conventional electric crossover. Its exterior design includes a panoramic roof, hidden electric door handles and a powered tailgate, while the wheelbase stretches to 2,940 mm.

Inside, the model offers premium features including Zero Gravity seats, massage, heating, ventilation and memory functions. Depending on the trim, buyers can choose between Microfiber PU Leather and Nappa upholstery.

The entry-level version comes with a 16-speaker Pioneer sound system, while higher grades receive a 25-speaker Meridian Premium Audio system. Higher trims can also feature an advanced air suspension system with CDC technology to improve ride comfort and stability.

Safety is another major focus. The AVATR 07 features nine airbags and a comprehensive ADAS package that includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert.

The vehicle also uses an extensive sensor package consisting of 11 cameras, 12 sensors and a millimeter-wave radar system.

AVATR 11 Established the Brand’s Presence

The AVATR 11 was the first production model introduced by the brand, with production beginning in 2022. It is positioned as a premium mid-size electric crossover and remains one of the most important vehicles in AVATR’s Egyptian portfolio.

Prices currently range from EGP 2.99 million to EGP 3.53 million across three grades: Luxury RWD, Performance AWD and Premium AWD.

The AVATR 11 is offered with a fully electric powertrain. Battery capacities include 90.4 kWh and 116.8 kWh, while output ranges from 309 horsepower in the rear-wheel-drive version to 570 horsepower in the higher-performance AWD versions.

Torque reaches 370 Nm in the lower-output configuration and 650 Nm in the more powerful versions. Claimed driving range ranges from 575 km to 625 km, depending on battery and drivetrain configuration.

Acceleration is equally impressive, with the RWD version reaching 100 km/h in approximately 6.6 seconds, while the higher-performance AWD models can complete the sprint in around 4.5 seconds.

Large Dimensions and Digital Technology

The AVATR 11 measures 4.88 meters in length and 1.97 meters in width, while its height stands at approximately 1.60 meters. The wheelbase measures 2.975 meters.

The crossover offers 395 liters of rear luggage capacity and is available with 21- or 22-inch wheels depending on specification.

Its technology package includes a 15.6-inch central display, digital systems and a range of driver-assistance features. Safety equipment includes six airbags, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance and a 540-degree camera system. (ايجي كار)

AVATR 12 Takes the Sedan Route

While the 07 and 11 focus on the crossover market, the AVATR 12 brings the brand into the premium electric sedan segment.

The model uses a distinctive Gran Coupe design, combining the proportions of a four-door sedan with a sloping roofline inspired by coupe styling.

In Egypt, the AVATR 12 is offered in two grades. The Luxury RWD starts at EGP 3.05 million, while the GT AWD reaches EGP 3.58 million. (ايجي كار)

The vehicle uses a 94.5-kWh battery, while power output stands at 309 horsepower in the lower version and 570 horsepower in the higher-performance model.

Claimed driving range reaches 610 km in one version and 565 km in the other, depending on configuration.

The AVATR 12 was designed in Munich and manufactured in China, with production beginning in July 2023. Globally, the model is available with different powertrain technologies, including fully electric and range-extended configurations.

Premium Pricing Defines AVATR’s Strategy

AVATR’s pricing structure in Egypt clearly positions the brand within the premium electric vehicle market.

The AVATR 07 starts at EGP 2.29 million, while the AVATR 11 begins at EGP 2.99 million. The AVATR 12 starts at EGP 3.05 million. Top prices reach EGP 2.79 million for the 07, EGP 3.53 million for the 11 and EGP 3.58 million for the 12.

This positioning means AVATR is not competing primarily on affordability. Instead, it is targeting customers willing to pay more for performance, technology, luxury and advanced electric mobility.

Kasrawy Expands the Local AVATR Network

AVATR’s expansion in Egypt has also involved strengthening its local sales and after-sales infrastructure.

In July 2026, Kasrawy Group officially launched the range-extended AVATR 07 in Egypt. The company also introduced an after-sales package including a five-year or 120,000-km warranty for the motor and an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty for the battery.

Customers also receive a home charger, roadside assistance, emergency support, door-to-door maintenance and over-the-air software updates.

Kasrawy Group has also opened a dedicated AVATR showroom in New Cairo in cooperation with Sparkd-EV, marking another step toward expanding the brand’s presence in Egypt’s premium electric vehicle market.

Growing EV Registration Numbers

AVATR is gradually building a presence on Egyptian roads. Data published for February 2026 indicated that 62 AVATR vehicles were registered in the country, while April registration data placed the brand among the leading electric vehicle brands in the Egyptian market.

These developments come as Egypt’s electric vehicle market continues to attract more global and Chinese brands, supported by growing consumer interest in new-energy vehicles and an expanding charging infrastructure.

Conclusion

AVATR is taking a distinctly premium approach to the Egyptian electric vehicle market, choosing to compete through technology, performance and luxury rather than focusing on entry-level pricing.

Its current lineup consists of the AVATR 07, AVATR 11 and AVATR 12, covering premium crossover and sedan segments. Prices range from EGP 2.29 million to EGP 3.58 million.

The brand’s strategy combines powerful electric drivetrains, advanced digital technology, distinctive design and premium interiors. The introduction of REEV technology through the AVATR 07 also gives the company an additional advantage by combining electric driving with extended-range capability.

As Egypt’s electric vehicle market develops and premium Chinese brands continue to enter the country, AVATR’s ability to maintain product quality, expand its service network and deliver a strong ownership experience will be critical to turning its early momentum into sustainable market share.
