Car prices in Egypt moved in different directions during October 2026, as automakers and local dealers announced new increases across dozens of models. In some cases, the increases ranged from EGP 20,000 to EGP 150,000, while discounts and promotional offers continued on other vehicles, reflecting differences in pricing strategies across brands.
The increases affected locally assembled and imported vehicles, including economy cars, family sedans, sport utility vehicles, electric cars and hybrids. Some models underwent successive price adjustments within less than two weeks, changing the advertised prices across several trim levels.

The changes were not limited to conventional petrol-powered vehicles, as electric and hybrid models also recorded increases. The Hyundai Ioniq 9 electric vehicle saw price adjustments ranging from EGP 50,000 to EGP 100,000. The Connect trim reached EGP 3 million, the Extreme trim EGP 3.3 million, and the Calligraphy trim EGP 3.6 million.
Meanwhile, discounts continued to be offered on some vehicles, reflecting differences in inventory, supply conditions and competition between brands. One example was the listed price reduction for the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Extreme, which fell by approximately EGP 300,000, from EGP 2.6 million to EGP 2.3 million. Other models also benefited from promotional offers and discounts.
Several factors influence car prices in Egypt, including foreign-currency procurement costs, shipping and insurance expenses, vehicle import timing, dealer and distributor inventory, competition and demand for individual models. The impact varies according to the vehicle's country of origin, its reliance on imported components and the cost of sourcing them.
Against this backdrop, increases affecting several models do not necessarily mean that all vehicles in the market will rise by the same amount. Likewise, a discount on one model does not automatically indicate a price reduction across an entire brand. Buyers should check the latest official price list, compare trim levels and specifications, confirm vehicle availability and delivery schedules, and verify any additional charges requested by distributors before making a purchase.
