Dongfeng MAGE EV Debuts in Egypt: First Locally Assembled Electric SUV

SN Automotive and El Nasr Automotive Partner to Produce the Electric SUV at Helwan Facilities with 45% Local Components

Marking a historic turning point for Egypt’s automotive industry, SN Automotive—the joint venture between El Safy Group and El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company—has officially debuted the Dongfeng MAGE EV.

The Dongfeng MAGE EV represents the first fully electric SUV to be assembled locally at El Nasr Automotive's historic production complex in Helwan. Achieving an initial local content ratio of 45%, this initiative supports Egypt's national strategy to localize green transportation and electric vehicle manufacturing.

The unveiling took place during a press conference held at El Nasr Automotive's headquarters, attended by key government officials including Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, alongside Eng. Yehia Abdel Halim, CEO of SN Automotive, and Dr. Nabil Hammad, Chairman of El Nasr Automotive.

The locally assembled Dongfeng MAGE EV is engineered around an efficient, front-wheel-drive electric powertrain:

• Torque: Produces a maximum torque of 240 Nm.

Battery, Range & Fast-Charging Capabilities

• Battery Capacity: Equipped with a 50.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
• Driving Range: Offers a driving range of up to 445 km per charge under the CLTC test cycle.
• DC Fast Charging: Supports fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes.
• Smart Energy Management: Features multi-level regenerative braking and includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology on select trims, enabling the battery to power external electrical appliances.
