Lynk & Co 03 recently moved from the showroom to the racetrack as Ezz Elarab Automotive Group organized a dedicated driving event designed to demonstrate the sporty sedan's performance capabilities in real-world conditions.
The event, titled “A Day with the 03,” brought together automotive journalists, media professionals and content creators for a hands-on experience with the Lynk & Co 03. The program combined a road drive from Cairo to Ain Sokhna with a dedicated track session focused on acceleration, handling, stability and vehicle control.
The event reflects Ezz Elarab's strategy of giving automotive specialists and potential customers a more direct understanding of Lynk & Co models through actual driving experiences rather than relying solely on technical specifications.
The event began in Cairo, where participants formed a convoy featuring several Lynk & Co models before heading toward Ain Sokhna.
The Lynk & Co 03 led the convoy during the journey, allowing participants to experience the sedan in normal road conditions before arriving at the main venue.
Once in Ain Sokhna, the focus shifted from everyday driving to performance testing, with a dedicated track prepared for the 03.
This combination gave participants the opportunity to experience the vehicle in two different environments: regular road driving and controlled track conditions.
The main part of the event was held on a dedicated test-drive track inside a luxury resort in Ain Sokhna.
Participants were able to explore several aspects of the Lynk & Co 03, including acceleration, maneuverability, stability and handling through different sections of the course.
The track environment allowed drivers to push the vehicle beyond the conditions normally encountered during everyday driving and provided a closer look at the sedan's dynamic characteristics.
The event also featured a competitive time trial. Participants attempted to complete the track in the shortest possible time, with the three fastest drivers eventually taking the top positions.
Noha El-Meligy, General Manager of Volvo and Lynk & Co in Egypt, emphasized the importance of hands-on driving experiences in understanding a vehicle's character.
According to El-Meligy, real driving provides journalists, influencers and automotive specialists with a better opportunity to evaluate a vehicle's capabilities than simply reviewing a list of technical specifications.
The concept behind “A Day with the 03” was therefore built around both road driving and track testing, allowing participants to form a more complete impression of the vehicle under different driving conditions.
The event also highlighted Lynk & Co's approach of combining modern design, sporty performance and technology within its product lineup.
Under the hood, the Lynk & Co 03 is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters.
The engine produces 181 horsepower and up to 290 Nm of torque, giving the compact sedan a strong performance-oriented specification.
Power is delivered through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission, or Wet DCT.
The transmission is designed to provide quick responses while maintaining smooth gear changes, an important characteristic for a vehicle positioned as a sporty sedan.
The combination of turbocharging, substantial torque and a dual-clutch transmission gives the 03 a powertrain designed to deliver quick acceleration while remaining suitable for everyday driving.
According to the specifications presented by Ezz Elarab, the Lynk & Co 03 can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
That figure gives the model a strong performance proposition within the compact sports-sedan category.
At the same time, the vehicle is not focused exclusively on outright performance. Its claimed average fuel consumption stands at approximately 6.2 liters per 100 kilometers, providing a balance between performance and everyday efficiency.
This combination is increasingly important in the modern automotive market, where buyers are looking for vehicles that can deliver engaging performance without significantly increasing daily running costs.
Another important element of the Lynk & Co 03's chassis is its multi-link rear suspension.
The system is designed to improve stability and control, particularly when the vehicle is negotiating corners or undergoing rapid changes in direction.
A multi-link configuration can also help balance handling characteristics with ride comfort, which is particularly relevant for a sedan expected to serve both as a daily commuter and a sporty driving option.
During a track-focused event, chassis behavior becomes especially important because performance is not determined by engine output alone. Suspension, steering response, braking and overall vehicle balance all contribute to how the car behaves when driven more aggressively.
The “A Day with the 03” event is part of Ezz Elarab Automotive Group's broader efforts to strengthen Lynk & Co's presence in Egypt through direct engagement with automotive audiences.
Mohamed El-Araby, Lynk & Co Brand Manager at Ezz Elarab, said the company intends to continue developing innovative driving experiences that allow customers and automotive enthusiasts to interact directly with the brand's vehicles.
Such events have become increasingly important in a competitive automotive market, where buyers are paying greater attention not only to pricing and specifications but also to driving characteristics, technology and overall vehicle experience.
The Lynk & Co 03 is positioned around a combination of sporty performance and everyday usability.
Its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 181 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, while the seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is designed to deliver quick power delivery.
The multi-link rear suspension adds another component to the car's dynamic package, helping provide stability and control during cornering and maneuvering.
At the same time, the model's technology and contemporary design are intended to appeal to buyers looking for something different from conventional compact sedans.
This combination places the 03 in a segment where performance, styling and technology increasingly overlap, particularly as younger buyers look for vehicles that offer more than basic transportation.
The A Day with the 03 event provided Lynk & Co with an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of its 03 sedan in a controlled environment while allowing participants to experience the car on both public roads and a dedicated racetrack.
With a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 181 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, a seven-speed Wet DCT transmission and a multi-link rear suspension, the Lynk & Co 03 combines a performance-oriented mechanical package with specifications suited to everyday use.
Its 6.9-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time further underlines the sporty character that Lynk & Co is seeking to establish for the model.
For Ezz Elarab, meanwhile, the event represents a more experiential approach to introducing the brand to Egypt's automotive market, putting the 03's performance and technology into the hands of specialists rather than presenting the car through specifications alone.
