
In a significant step reflecting a long-term commitment to strengthening the automotive sector in Egypt, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, a leading mobility solutions provider, and GAC, one of China’s largest and most renowned automotive manufacturers, have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate local assembly operations for GAC vehicles in Egypt under the Knocked Down (KD) system.
This collaboration aims to localize vehicle production, create job opportunities, and offer advanced models tailored to the needs of Egyptian consumers, in cooperation with a local assembler and component suppliers.
According to the MoU signed on May 20, 2025, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors and GAC will work with local partners to assemble GAC vehicles in Egypt, pending all necessary regulatory approvals.
