The sailing yacht Ravenger, formerly known as Pink Gin VI, has completed a comprehensive refit that lasted 10 months at the Baltic Yachts facilities in Jakobstad, Finland. The 53.9-meter yacht is the largest sailing yacht in the world made entirely of carbon fiber, a title it has held since its initial delivery in 2017. This refit was not just routine maintenance but a transformative overhaul that included performance upgrades, aesthetic changes, and advanced technical updates, ensuring the yacht is ready for future challenges, whether in races or exploratory voyages.
Ravenger was first delivered in 2017 as one of the most technologically advanced yachts of its time, thanks to its lightweight, all-carbon fiber construction. The yacht was designed to be a strong competitor in sailing regattas, boasting both high performance and a luxurious design that seamlessly combines elegance and innovation.
In 2023, the yacht was sold to a new owner through the brokerage firms Edmiston and Fraser, after which it entered the Baltic Yachts facilities for a comprehensive refit aimed at enhancing its performance and updating its interior and exterior design.
Ravenger underwent significant improvements to its exterior design, focusing on enhancing performance while maintaining the yacht's luxurious aesthetic appeal.
The yacht's interior was reimagined by Design Unlimited, focusing on neutral tones and natural materials to create a sense of comfort and luxury.
Mikael Nyberg, project manager at Baltic Yachts, highlighted the importance of this refit, stating:
"The yacht is entering a new phase of its life. With this refit, we are ensuring it is ready for the challenges ahead, whether in races or exploring remote destinations."
Tommy Johansson, another project manager, added:
"The yacht was state-of-the-art when it was delivered, but significant advancements have been made since then. We applied all the knowledge we’ve gained from recent projects to improve performance and comfort. For example, we developed a new mounting system for the interior panels and installed advanced noise reduction systems."
With the new modifications, Ravenger is now better equipped for participation in sailing regattas, with upgraded sailing systems designed to deliver higher performance and improved efficiency. The extended bowsprit, updated backstay systems, and replacement of the winches make the yacht capable of handling the challenges of both competitive sailing and long-distance voyages.
The refit of Ravenger was not just routine maintenance but a transformative overhaul that ensures the yacht remains at the forefront of technology and performance. Whether for racing or exploratory voyages, the updates to the interior and exterior design, along with the technical enhancements, make the yacht ready to face any future challenges.
This project reflects Baltic Yachts' commitment to innovation and quality, as the yacht continues to maintain its position as one of the most prominent sailing yachts in the world. With these updates, Ravenger enters a new chapter in its life, remaining a symbol of luxury and performance in the world of sailing yachts.
